Texture
The base principal behind this season is texture! Nothing effects a knitwear design as much as texture. With nearly endless combinations of fibers, yarns, and stitches you can practically have a piece of knitwear for every mood and the difference has a lot to do with the texture, the feel! This is also what I have the most fun playing with… Classic designs with simple shapes can be made into so many things with the change of a stitch, the gauge of the knit, the fiber, or even how the yarn is spun. Texture is the reason we are drawn to certain sweaters and I think it is what makes knitwear design so fun and interesting.
